St. Matthew’s House shelters 400 men, women and children every night. In addition, St. Matthew’s House operates soup kitchens, mobile food pantries, transitional and permanent supportive housing facilities, substance abuse recovery programs, and employment training initiatives. This type of wrap-around service center eliminates the burden on low-income individuals to travel to multiple locations and sit through lengthy intake for these additional services. Recipients will be qualified using their address, number of people in the household, frequency of their visits, and a maximum dollar value per visit. This model will provide more comprehensive, personalized assistance to better serve individuals and families struggling with food insecurity. It provides housing for over 150 people and food for more than 450 people everyday.

St. Matthew’s House works to eliminate the elements of poverty at their base. Our homeless shelter and feeding ministry have opened their doors to countless lives without taking a day off in more than a quarter century. The “Task Force for the Homeless” began gathering contributions of both food and clothing, establishing the mission’s food pantry.
